A huge thanks to Behr and Lamps Expo for sponsoring this bathroom makeover. All opinions of their products are 100% my own.
Painting The Bathroom Walls Light-green
I finished painting the walls last weekend and am and then happy with how the room looks! As I say fourth dimension and fourth dimension once more, it's astonishing what a fresh coat of paint can exercise to transform a space.
I painted the lesser 2/3 of the wall a rich green, using a strip of painter's record to marking the partitioning between the greenish on the bottom and white on meridian. You'll notice a strip of the onetime blue color where the painter'due south tape was. The pinnacle horizontal board of the board and crossbar wall treatment I'yard adding will comprehend upwards that thin blue line so I didn't worry about painting over it.
The green wall colour is chosen Rainforest by Behr. I used Behr Marquee paint and am super impressed that it only took one coat to completely encompass up the vivid blue underneath.
I wanted to paint the top third of the wall white to brighten upwards the bathroom and provide a nice contrast to the rich light-green on the lesser. I had a couple open gallons of white paint from other projects and ended up choosing the creamy white leftover from Chloe'southward nursery (it'due south White Jasmine past Behr).
Now that the walls are painted, my next step is adding new chunky baseboards and board and batten on the greenish role of the wall. I also plan to add together trim around the window and door. The board and crossbar volition be similar to what I did in our recent navy entryway makeover but it will only have vertical boards, capped off with i horizontal board at the top.
Past the manner, before I started painting I removed the light, mirror and all of the hardware from the walls. Then I took the time to patch holes and retexture the walls and then everything was set for painting. I followed this tutorial for patching and repairing holes in the wall.
Mirror And Lite Options
I've been stuck holding a ill baby for the past few days and have used that fourth dimension on the couch to store for a light fixture and mirror to go above the vanity.
These will replace the original builder light and frameless mirror and are where the majority of the makeover budget will go. Upgrading a few basic things like these makes such a large impact!
If you are following me on Instagram, you lot may take seen me asking for your opinions on light and mirror combinations this week. At that place are so many slap-up options out there that it's tough to choose!
Lamps Expo is partnering with me on the bath makeover and it took me a while to narrow down all of their options! Bank check out their helpful guide to choosing bathroom lighting. I finally decided on two pretty and very affordable light fixtures.
Thanks to your assist over on Instagram, I selected the Hansford Lite in Antique Bronze!
At present that the light fixture is selected and ordered, it's time to cull a coordinating mirror. I'm really hoping to do something unlike than a standard rectangle vanity mirror and have constitute some great options. I'm still deciding, merely here are all of the combinations I've been considering this past week:
