How I Can Boot by Dvd if I Want to See My Raid Hdd on Poweredge T-130

Hi,

I recently purchased a small Dell T130 server personal use. I purchased information technology with two 2TB HDDs preinstalled and Windows Server 2022 Essentials. I want the kick drive to be on 2 solid country drives notwithstanding; so I removed the HDDs and installed some Samsung SSDs into the server. (I empathise these are consumer grade , but this is a personal server and I sympathise the risks).

I cleared the old Raid config and re-configured SSDs in a Raid1. I fabricated certain all settings were set to UEFI boot in Bios.  Upon booting to install media (DVD); I become the below fault when attempting to install to the SSDs.

Windows could not set the calculator to boot into the next phase of installation

I thought there was an upshot with the install media, then I made a new USB bootable bulldoze as well. However I get the same error when attempting to install from the USB bulldoze. I have played with nigh every setting in the bios I could think to play with. I accept reset the config on the bios a few times thinking but the problem persists.

Is this a limitation imposed by Dell on consumer grade SSDs, or is this a simple setting I am missing?

Well the solution was incredbily simple.... All Bios settings were right, everything was configured properly.   Where I was running into an result was during the install, when you go to "Custom Install" and it shows the available disks for install, I was deleteing partitions and just hitting side by side on the single unallocated partitioning.  Ordinarily with Windows Server and Windows ten, it sets up the paritions and installs, simply non this time. I had to click "new" then continue to side by side on the formatted partitioning.   Sometimes its the simplest things!

FIX 1 – General Suggestions

one. Brand sure your system is not connected to any other external devices while installation.

2. Check your difficult disk for errors.

3. If you're getting this error while upgrading, repair the boot records first and so retry with the upgrade.

4. For upgrade users, you must temporarily disable your security software and run into if this helps.

Fix 2 – Using Advanced Recovery Control Prompt

ane. Boot from the installation media, let the setup wizard get-go, click Repair your computer link.

hen select Troubleshoot > and cull Command Prompt on Avant-garde options screen.

ii. In the Command Prompt window, type these commands (mentioned in bold) 1 by one and printing Enter key after each:

diskpart

list disk

select disk #

list partition

select partition #

agile

format fs=ntfs

assign

exit

3. Close Command Prompt and restart the installation, this time you lot should exist able to installWindows without whatsoever fault.

Hope this helps!

Kick into diskpart and make clean the virtual drive created past raid. create your partitions, mark them active and endeavor the install process again. I seem to call back this error from Vista days.

THIS Will FORMAT THE Difficult Drive

at cmd :

1 - Type DISKPART, striking enter

two - Type LIST DISK, enter, brand sure it lists the correct sized drive

3 - SEL Deejay # where # = the drive you are installing to

4 - blazon CLEAN, hit enter

five - blazon CREATE Sectionalisation Chief, enter

half dozen - SEL PART 1

7 - FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK hitting enter

8 - ACTIVE

9 - EXIT

Reboot and try to install again.

Thank you for the suggestions. When I commonly install I am deleteing all partitions on the disk before attempting the install once again. There is no data on these disks.

In all my prior windows server installations, windows installer completed for formatting of the disks form the blank disk.  In fact, I can see that the formatting is completing successfully each time I endeavour every bit the paritions are at that place subsequently being deleted. So Not certain that Diskpart is the fix for this.

I will attempt the lifecycle controller and run into if this provides a dissimilar result.  I will demand to exercise a trial of iDrac Enterprise for this I gauge.
